The Relationship
Braille Tactile Signs Aust. was engaged by Diadem to manufacture the Braille Tactile Signs for the new Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne.
The project required close collaboration to support a highly considered design outcome, with a strong focus on consistency, colour integration, and delivery within a complex and tight construction programme.
The Project
The Royal Children’s Hospital is one of Australia’s leading paediatric healthcare facilities, designed to create a welcoming and engaging environment for patients, families, and staff.
Following more than seven years of planning and construction, the new hospital was officially opened in 2011, representing a significant investment in healthcare infrastructure and patient experience.
The signage formed part of this broader vision, contributing to wayfinding that is both functional and aligned with the architectural design.
The hospital was officially opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, marking its significance as a landmark project where only the highest standards of quality, design, and performance were expected.
