Where BTS Aust. Started

BTS Aust. Was Established in 2002 by Father and Daughter Roland and Claudia Gatt, in Response to a Clear Gap in the Australian Market.

There was demand for compliant Braille Tactile Signs, but no established local solution.

Through a background in engineering, fabrication, sculpting, and design, Roland Gatt developed the first compliant Braille Tactile Sign solution in Australia. At the same time, Claudia Gatt was completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in Gold and Silversmithing, bringing a shared focus on detail, finish, and craftsmanship into the business.

What began as a practical solution has grown into a specialised capability, built on experience, refinement, and continuous improvement. Over time, our connection to the vision community has grown through both personal experience and the friendships and relationships we have built with people who are blind or have low vision. This has strengthened our understanding of the importance of signage that is not only compliant, but genuinely usable in everyday environments.
