This exciting range of 26 Signs or 52 Cards offers a fun, educational and interactive set of Alphabetical signs comprising of Braille & Tactile Lettering matched with images of the Auslan Sign Language.
Featuring each letter of the alphabet along with a word that identifies activities or landmarks around parks and nature environments.
Each word is nationally recognised in Australian Sign Language (Auslan) and is suitable for use Australia Wide!

What is Auslan?
Auslan is the language of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community. It is used by people who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Autistic, non-verbal and selective mute amongst others to convey thoughts, ideas, opinions, feelings, emotions and information.
Auslan uses a combination of Handshapes (38 +), Orientation, Location and Movement to convey both simple and complex communication. Access to learning Auslan can also help the hearing community overcome barriers they face when communicating with people who use Auslan only.

What Is Braille?
Braille is a Tactile Code that represents the written language for people who are blind or have low vision, allowing them to read and write independently. The alphabet, Numbers and Symbols are represented by patterns of raised dots that are felt and read with the fingertips. Each character is made up of a different combination of 6 dots within a cell. The cell is made up of 2 columns and 3 rows. Did You Know? The Braille Code we know and use today was created by Louis Braille in 1824 at the age of 15.
What Does Tactile Mean?
Tactile means "of or connected with the sense of touch." Tactile Text is read also by people who are blind or have low vision levels. Tactile elements are any raised Text, Braille, Symbols or Graphics on signs or surfaces that can be read through touch. These visible elements are also able to be read by the sighted.
