As an industry-leading business in the Wayfinding signage sector, Braille Tactile Signs Aust. acknowledges the importance of taking responsibility for our organization's impact on the environmental and social wellbeing. We focus our energy on initiatives that support our diverse workforce, minimize negative environmental impacts, and strengthen our communities. We strive to lead by example and to continuously improve in those areas of our business that are under our direct control. We work closely with our clients, suppliers, partners and the industry in order to develop innovative products and solutions.
Environmental Operational Focus
We foster and encourage environmental sustainability practices in our offices and manufacturing facilities, with things such as extensive recycling & composting systems and processes to reduce our waste to landfill. Energy efficient lighting, heating and water efficient fixtures have also been deployed across our manufacturing plant to reduce costs and further reduce our overall carbon footprint. Our production processes, methods, and tools are environmentally optimised, with the aim of ensuring minimal wastage and maximum yield, helping to increase overall profitability and minimise negative environmental impact. Furthermore, the raw production materials are sourced from local and international businesses who share our ethos. Braille Tactile Signs Aust. are proudly certified by Ecovadis.
Acknowledgment of Country
We acknowledge the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation as the traditional custodians of the land now known as the Ringwood, where Indigenous Australians have performed age-old ceremonies. We acknowledge and respect their unique ability to care for Country and their deep spiritual connection to it. We pay our respects to their Elders, past, present and emerging.
How We Do It
Extensive Recycling
We recycle any materials we can within our office and workshop, such as keeping all boxes and packing materials from deliveries we receive and reuse them in our own deliveries where we can, even encouraging staff to bring in cardboard boxes from home.
Energy Efficient Lighting
Throughout our location we have installed Energy Efficient Lighting and put some lights on sensors, so they turn off when not in use and reduce energy use. We also love our large skylights that bring in natural light to our office!

Being Environmentally Conscious When Sourcing Materials
Raw production materials are sourced from local and international businesses who share our ethos. We also source the materials in a size that will reduce our potential to create offcuts that aren’t usable.
Minimizing Material Waste
We ensure that when our materials are cut and measured, it’s done in a way that uses as much of the source material as possible and results in minimal offcuts.
Solar
In 2023, we installed a solar system across the roof of our first factory that now powers our premises.
Compostable Packaging
BTS Aust. are proud to use HERO Compostable Packaging for all online orders and custom orders up to a certain size. The Mailers are Fully Compostable, fertilize your garden and even have a reusable tape strip so that the receiver can use it once more! We also currently utilize their compostable bubble wrap for extra protection! In future, we will be expanding our eco packaging practices to include compostable boxes, tapes, labels and stickers. When a delivery is going to be very heavy, fragile or large, we of course have to use extreme care when packaging to ensure a safe delivery and that is when we use wooden boxes and other recycled materials.
