Leading the Way in Event Accessibility

The 2025 Vision Australia Santa Fun Run was bigger and more joyful than ever, and BTS Aust. was proud to play a part as a Sponsor & Event Partner. Being involved in an event that brings families together while championing independence for children and young people who are blind or have low vision was truly heartwarming.

Delivering Accessible Wayfinding for Events

BTS Aust. collaborated closely with Vision Australia’s team to deliver a tailored Wayfinding Package, ensuring participants and visitors could navigate the Santa Fun Run Event Village and activity zones with confidence.

Our Wayfinding Package included:

  • Custom and Standard Range Braille Tactile Signs

  • Directional signage guiding visitors to registration, toilets, start/finish lines, sports zone, and pedestrian access

  • Event Village Tactile Map

  • Fifteen Marquee Tactile Signs

All signage was delivered individually, with Vision Australia managing mounting surfaces and installation. This accessibility-first approach helped make the Santa Fun Run a smooth, safe, and inclusive environment for all attendees.

Beyond Signage

BTS Aust. also contributed to the event in ways that enhanced engagement and inclusivity:

  • Letters to Santa activation Hosted at our marquee, children could write letters using a Braille machine, with Vision Australia providing the machine and operator. This interactive activity introduced families to Braille in a fun, educational way.

  • Face painting support We provided signage and materials to ensure this popular activity was welcoming, accessible, and well organised.

These contributions added joy and inclusivity across the event village, creating memorable experiences for families. As a family-owned business with nearly 25 years’ experience, BTS Aust. is driven by care and a focus on supporting independence, confidence, and meaningful experiences for the people who rely on our products.

Positive Impact for Vision Australia

The Santa Fun Run brought nearly 1,000 participants to Melbourne’s Tan Track and raised over $107,900 for Vision Australia’s Children’s Services. The accessibility-first approach contributed directly to:

  • Improved universal navigation across the event village

  • Increased engagement at activity areas

  • A welcoming, inclusive experience for all families, especially those with low vision or blindness

  • Strengthened Community connections through hands-on activities like Braille Letters to Santa

  • A scalable, repeatable model for future accessible wayfinding at Vision Australia Accessible Events

It truly was a “Village Effort,” and BTS Aust. was delighted to help make the day magical.
