The 2025 Vision Australia Santa Fun Run was bigger and more joyful than ever, and Braille Tactile Signs Aust. was proud to play a part as a Sponsor & Event Partner. Being involved in an event that brings families together to raise funds for children who are blind or have low vision, while allowing us to champion independence for people of all ages with blindness or low vision, was truly heartwarming.
Delivering Accessible Wayfinding for Events
BTS Aust. collaborated closely with Vision Australia’s team to design and deliver a tailored Wayfinding Package, ensuring participants and visitors could navigate the Santa Fun Run Festival Village and Activity Zones with confidence.
Our Wayfinding Package included:
-
Custom Designed Braille Tactile Signs
-
Directional Braille Tactile Signs - guiding visitors to registration, toilets, start/finish lines, sports zone, and pedestrian access
- Event Village Braille Tactile Map
- Merchandise Braille Tactile Sign
- Fifteen Marquee & Sponsor Braille Tactile Signs
All signage was delivered individually, with Vision Australia managing mounting surfaces and installation. This accessibility-first approach helped make the Santa Fun Run a smooth, safe, and inclusive environment for all attendees.
Some signage was produced specifically for the event, while others were supplied as a versatile, reusable signage suite packaged for ease and ongoing impact.
This accessibility-first approach supports Vision Australia’s to champion access and inclusion events, helping make the Santa Fun Run a smooth, safe, and welcoming environment for all attendees.
Beyond Signage
BTS Aust. also brought extra fun and inclusivity to the event with engaging, family-friendly activities:
-
Letters to Santa activation Hosted at the Braille Tactile Signs Aust. and Vision Australia Children & Young People Bub, children could send written or Braille letters, to Santa - with Vision Australia providing the machine and operator. This exciting activity brought so much joy to those who read Braille, and also introduced families to Braille in a fun, interactive way.
These contributions added joy and inclusivity across the event village, creating memorable experiences for families. As a family-owned business with nearly 25 years’ experience in BTS, and 50 years in Wayfinding Signage, BTS Aust. is driven by care and lived experience, with a focus on supporting independence, confidence, and meaningful experiences for the people who rely on our products.

Positive Impact for Vision Australia
The Santa Fun Run brought nearly 1,000 participants to Melbourne’s Tan Track and raised over $107,900 for Vision Australia’s Children’s Services. BTS Aust’s inclusive approach contributed directly to:
-
Improved universal navigation and inclusion across the event village
-
Increased engagement at activity areas
-
A welcoming, inclusive experience for families, especially those with low vision or blindness
- Strengthened Community connections through hands-on activities like Braille Letters to Santa
-
Enhanced awareness through engaging signage
- A scalable, repeatable model for future accessible wayfinding at Vision Australia Accessible Events
It truly was a “Village Effort,” and BTS Aust. was delighted to help make the day magical.
