Tactile Handrail Buttons are raised dome indicators installed at the start and end of handrails.
They are a compliance-based element, used to warn when a person is approaching a stairway or ramp.
Typically applied where:
• Handrails are Discontinuous
• Stairways or Ramps Begin and End
• TGSI’s Are Not Required
These Buttons:
• Provide a Clear Tactile Warning of Transitions
• Support Safer Navigation for People who are Blind or have Low Vision
Installation must align with AS/NZS 1428.4.1 and NCC Section D4D9.
Braille Tactile Handrail Indicators (Wayfinding Information)
Handrail Indicators are applied to the handrail surface, wrapping around to provide clear, accessible information.
They communicate:
• Levels
• Directions
• Key Destinations such as Levels, Exits and Amenities
Available in both BTS Aust. Standard Range and Custom formats to match your project requirements, they provide an additional layer of clarity, supporting independence and ease of navigation.
