Supplied without adhesive, the aluminium backing provides additional rigidity while allowing the installer to easily select the most appropriate fixing method for the application. It is commonly specified for uneven or textured mounting surfaces, including rendered finishes, and where a non-combustible substrate may be required, such as many egress door installations.

Accessible Toilet LH or RH indicate Left or Right Hand side transfer rails. Refers to the side the Grab Rail is on when seated on the toilet.
An Ambulant Toilet is designed for individuals with mobility limitations who do not use a wheelchair. Featuring grab rails on both sides, and increased widths to ensure safer movement. Ambulant toilets are often located within standard male and female blocks of toilets and are intended for people with conditions like arthritis or those using walking aids. Ambulant cubicles require signage on the cubicle door to identify it's an Ambulant toilet.

(a) Braille and tactile components of a sign must be located not less than 1200mm and not higher than 1600mm above the floor or ground surface.
(b) Signs with single lines of characters must have the line of tactile characters not less than 1250mm and not higher than 1350mm above the floor or ground surface.
(c) Signs identifying rooms containing features or facilities listed in D4D7 must be locatedā
(i) on the wall on the latch side of the door with the leading edge of the sign located between 50mm and 300mm from the architrave; and
(ii) where (i) is not possible, the sign may be placed on the door itself.
Ā (d) Signs identifying a door required by E4D5 to be provided with an exit sign must be locatedā
(i) on the side that faces a person seeking egress; and
(ii) on the wall on the latch side of the door with the leading edge of the sign located between 50mm and 300mm from the architrave; and
(iii) where (ii) is not possible, the sign may be placed on the door itself.

Following more than seven years of planning and construction, the new hospital was officially opened in 2011, representing a significant investment in healthcare infrastructure and patient experience. The signage formed part of this broader vision, contributing to wayfinding that is both functional and aligned with the architectural design. The hospital was officially opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, marking its significance as a landmark project where only the highest standards of quality, design, and performance were expected.
