A Shared Commitment to Accessibility and Inclusion

Braille Tactile Signs Aust. values its ongoing engagement with Vision Australia and SEDA, united by a shared commitment to improving accessibility and supporting people who are blind or have low vision.

Together, we contribute to initiatives that enhance independence, confidence, and the ability for individuals to navigate and engage with the world around them.

The Relationship

Braille Tactile Signs Aust. and Vision Australia share a long-standing connection, with collaboration dating back to 2004, which continues to strengthen over the years.

As leaders in our respective fields, this relationship extends beyond individual projects, focusing on shared learning, community engagement, and the advancement of inclusive wayfinding outcomes.

The Outcome

Our work with Vision Australia supports outcomes that prioritise the lived experience of people who are blind or have low vision.

Through both signage and collaborative initiatives, we contribute to environments and experiences that are more inclusive, accessible, and aligned with the needs of the community.

Value Over Time

Quality is proven over time.

Through ongoing engagement, the importance of well-considered, user-focused design continues to shape the way accessible environments are delivered. Braille Tactile Signs Aust. focuses on supporting solutions that not only meet compliance requirements, but also enhance usability, independence, and long-term confidence for end users.

Project Highlights

Braille Tactile Signs Aust. and Vision Australia have worked together across a range of initiatives and events, contributing to inclusive experiences and community engagement.

This includes:

  • World Sight Day events, through shared advocacy and collaboration
  • Sponsorship and signage delivery for the Vision Australia Santa Fun Run
  • Design and production of Braille Tactile maps, directional signage, and event signage
  • Collaborative initiatives such as Braille “Letters to Santa”, supporting inclusive participation for children and families
  • For event-based initiatives, signage solutions are developed to suit both temporary and ongoing use.

Temporary signage is produced using our multi-layer print technology (MLP), allowing for varied tactile textures to support features such as tactile mapping and surface differentiation.

Reusable signage is produced using our continuous surface encapsulated technology (CSE_Tech™), designed for durability and ease of use, and provided as a user-friendly, flat-packed kit for use across multiple events.

These initiatives reflect a shared focus on creating environments that are welcoming, accessible, and meaningful for all participants.
